Thankful for you Turkeys
Since no one posted the obligatory "Thankful on Thanksgiving" post here it is. I am thankful for these forums and the dedicated few who still haunt it. My enjoyment of the comic has faded over the years mostly due to the lack of said comic and a distancing from it's fan base in the forums. My enjoyment of the forums however remains strong. Sometimes there are many updated and interesting things going on and sometimes it's a desert with tumbleweeds blowing through it. I am however truly thankful for the people I have met here and continue to meet. So to you dear reader I say Thank You.

I know I haven't been on here much, but the forums were a safe haven for me when I was a scared college freshman on a big campus in 2003. I found a variety of great people to talk to, some of which I still consider close friends and for that I am very thankful. Much love <3 <3 <3

Re: Thankful for you Turkeys
I feel this. I joined the forums at a time when I wasn't sleeping very well and they gave me somewhere to hang out at Stupid O'Clock. Then I went to Uni as a mature student and it was a pretty lonely experience. I remember sitting in the Uni library desperately refreshing the page to see if anyone had added anything in the thirty seconds since I last refreshed. I don't think I realised at the time how big a support structure the forums were. And then I wasn't alone any more and even then, the forums were to me what smart devices are to people now: something to be checked obsessively even while having dinner.
Yeah, they're a shadow of their former selves as a whole, but we - us stubborn few - are not. I'm thankful I found this place and thankful I found some measure of acceptance on it and thankful that I made some friends here and thankful it's still around.
