I have it set up like I should have I have 10 set up in a VM box now so now after I get everything worked out then I can upgrade.

So I'm a little late to the party (especially since MS took forever to let me update), but I've updated both my work laptop and personal laptop to 10 and what amazed me was the seamless compatibility. Aside from Windows wanting to use its own drivers for the fingerprint reader, everything else just...worked. That NEVER happens.

Other than continually shuffling around where to get to certain settings (apparently to accommodate tablets), it all seems to be running fine for me, too.

There's one exception: it won't go to sleep on its own anymore. I have my desktop set to go to sleep after a while, maybe 30 minutes, but it never does go to sleep on its own anymore. I have to hit the Sleep button on the keyboard.

I am finding that my home laptop doesn't sleep when the lid is closed and plugged in. I suspect that's a power setting, but I never remember to check it except when I'm at work and I see it alive on TeamViewer.

I saw something about some USB devices being automatically configured in such a way as to block sleeping. Check the power management tab for the drivers of any USB devices you keep connected.

Interesting. I never had an issue before with Windows 7, and I don't have too many USB devices. But I'll check. Might be the wifi adapter.

Most likely culprit doesn't seem guilty. None of the other devices I investigated appear to be misconfigured, either.
