Yeah. It did both feel like the end of something but also a disappointment that this wasn't the respect with which Wolverine had always been treated.

I felt the same way, but I think we were meant to feel sympathy for a character that always deserved so much more.

Anyone seen Kong: Skull Island yet?
Anyone want to come over and watch it with me? No one I know fancies it.

I watched it. It probably wouldn't be worth the airfare, to be honest.
No-one going to the movies much these days? What about GotG2. Who wants to talk about GotG2?
Wonder Woman? Should I go and see it?

I just went a couple of days ago to see Wonder Woman. I very much enjoyed it, there was an actual storyline and not just all people beating each other up.

GotG2 was good. They piled on the feels and overdid it a bit on all the stuff that made the first one a hit. It's as if they slacked on the story because they thought an extra helping of sarcasm and social ineptitude would carry the movie on its own.

Agree with all of that. They repeated the winning formula only more so. But still. A very solid sequel and laughs and feels in abundance.
WE on Friday. I'm looking forward to thsee contentious armpits. And her guitar theme which, Batfleck aside, has been the best thing about the DCU so far.

Re: Latest movies mega-thread
We only watched the first episode last night but its superior budget in comparison to its predecessors is obvious; it looked gorgeous.
I liked it, but I'm not particularly a Trekkie. Which seems to be quite a popular opinion: as a stand-alone show people like it but as an entry into the wider Star Trek universe, they're a little more wary.
I'd certainly keep watching it even if only because of the cliffhanger at the end of the episode.
