That's just what it reminded me of :)

You know what you remind me of? A big jerk.

Booooooooooooooooooooooom!

But here you are anyway. Another song for you to jerk at, you jerk-face. I like the range he's using here.

I kept waiting for the hard rock or screamo breakdown that never came. Friends of yours?

To harken back to a previous conversation, it turns out this exists: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Man%27s_Hero

Fairly well stripped back and well executed cover...

And this is still directly my cup of tea, a plaintive plea swelling through a dynamic crescendo to a bare emotional climax, especially when powered by simple but soulful piano or acoustic guitar.

I really liked that first one. It's a band I've never heard of covering a song I don't know. I love being forty.

The performance of the second song was pretty good but I didn't much care for the song itself.

As I get older and more experienced, I look for real emotion in songs. Adam Duritz is a good example of someone writing a song and making you feel like he felt when he did so. This Desert Life was such a break-up album for me that I still can't hear it now without my heart hurting just a little.

I heard this yesterday while I was looking for why Lisa Hannigan no longer performs with Damian Rice. I hadn't realised that they were romantically involved before he sacked her. I could happily listen to her read me terminally bad news but this it worth a listen even if only to hear a professional musician being unable to play the melody for Three Blind Mice.

This remains one of the saddest songs I've ever heard and I don't believe for a minute she didn't write the lyrics. I like the contrast of the softness of the simple vocals against the more mechanised backdrop.

On the other hand, I'm also a sucker for cheesy joy.

I love this chick. She's like "Yeah. I'm normal-sized. And I'm sexy AF"

This is the video for the original in case you're interested. The end is kinda funny, too.

Been on a bit of a Harry Nilsson binge lately.

So a little while back this track floated across my radar (I don't watch Rick & Morty but this was apparently used in it)

But for the naming of that video I might have missed the fact I'd actually been aware of the band (but hadn't really tried to keep up) for years. Having been introduced to them some 10-odd years earlier this was the track (performed when they were aged 10 and 12 respectively) I heard at the time:

I love how clean of a line you can draw through 10 years of musical development while still aiming for roughly the same sound.

I love when something comes full circle or ends up fulfilled long term like that.

Deacon I was watching the Chainsmokers video and realized that is Hailey from Modern Family. She has a decent voice, but the guy blows her out of the water great song!

This was really popular last year. It was one of those songs that I listened to on repeat. I think we can all relate to feeling like a stranger in your own skin sometimes. Watching his interviews he seems very much in his own head

I would say how very LA but I'm pretty sure it's a fairly universal human experience.

The original version of this song (which is by Streetlight Manifesto) is incredible, but the stripped down version is really good too:
