It didn't make it far in the US. Started airing in 2008, was done by 2009. Was it all a dream? Was it some sort of rip in the spacetime continuum? A spiritual journey?
I can only speak for the British version but I can't remember. I have a feeling they left it open to interpretation,

So last night, after performing my marital duties with skill and vigour, I threw on a dressing gown and went into the kitchen to make the post-coital cuppa and put the kettle on the hob.
Nicola came in behind me in pyjama bottoms and a pjyama top she'd thrown on. Reaching in front me, and stretching across the cooker to get to a box of rosehip tea, the trailing part of her pyjama top came into contact with the gas ring and went up like the Hindenburg. "Aaah!", she wailed, terrified, "Fuck! Fuck!" With little thought for my own safety, I immediately went into husband mode and, with both hands, ripped her top off her, clean in half like a bag of crisps (or 'chips', if you will), leaving her naked from the waist up, screaming in terror and in a lit kitchen in front of a window facing a pitch-dark street.
I wonder how that must have looked to the late observer.
