Cryptic... now I'm intrigued.

Re: Have...have you heard...?
Yes, BtEO - as usual - has it.
It's an admission of defeat even having Batman in the MoS sequel anyway as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, it was disappointing. But maybe they should consider why it was disappointing and address its shortcomings rather than rather cynically throwing another franchise at it. Particularly now it looks as if they're going to piss on the good memories so many of us have of that franchise. Maybe Ben Affleck will surprise us all. Maybe we're all still in awe of his genre-defining performance in Daredevil. Maybe he got the gig because he's tall.
Still. At least it's not Christian Bale. I don't want to see Nolan's pretty decent Batman in a bukkake's worth of spurting CGI.

Re: Have...have you heard...?
I remain unconvinced. Their reasons seem to be that he's not George Clooney and that he likes comic books. Sounds like every single person in the world.
Except for George Clooney.
Ben Affleck might have matured into a good actor. In fairness, I can't comment on that one way or another because I haven't watched anything with him in it for a decade.

I didn't see Man of Steel, and care little for Superman in general. So the news merits a meh, I'll wait and see what happens.
Maybe he'll nail it like Heath Ledger and Anne Hathaway managed to. I always prefer optimism when I can manage it.

The rage with this news is sort of like two notches down from Doctor Who fans' hatred for Moffat. It's significant, but not quite as vicious.
The only way this could get worse is if Selena Gomez is tagged as either Harleyquin, Batgirl, or Catwoman. Or maybe if Beiber is the new Joker. Which in real life, he kind of is now.
I predict in ten years, geek historians will look back on this and note it as the moment where the movie industry does to comic books what comic book publishers have done to comic books since probably the 80's.

Heh. The dahk knight.
But...you're commenting on something. On the internet. I didn't think it was capable to prefer optimism while commenting on things on the internet.BtEO wrote:I always prefer optimism when I can manage it.
He seems to be a pretty talented director and screenwriter. As for his comic book credentials, I have no idea, but I'd imagine anyone that spent that much time around Kevin Smith probably has some love for comic books. Batman in particular.Rorschach wrote:Ben Affleck might have matured into a good actor.

Re: Have...have you heard...?
Funny thing about Kevin Smith. I really enjoyed the comic book versions of his own characters but his stint at Daredevil was dreadful. I don't know if he's been let loose on any other established characters but I'd have to hope not. I'm not sure love for a character necessarily allows you to do something good with it.
