I hope you finish the degree before the kid comes. I wouldn't blame you for working longer hours at night though...

That face-front shot looks like a weasel.

Well, I probably won't be done by February when the baby arrives, but hopefully I will be finished with it next year.

As for the front on shot, We thought it looked more like an alien, though I can kind of see the weasel now that you mention it.

Thanks Minx and Rors. The podlet is supposed to arrive near the end of February. From our calculations it should be the 22nd, according to the size in the ultrasound, the 19th.

Between the two of us and all of our siblings, the lowest birth weight was 8 lb, 12 oz (4.0 kg), so we expect the child to be larger than normal at birth.

Congrats! The first image sparked the X-Files theme to play in my head.

May the child grow up and put you in good nursing home and not the kind that makes you stitch wallets and beats you with leather belts.

We already have a name picked out for each gender, but when my wife informed her mother of previous names we had been considering, she tore them apart. Because of this, we aren't telling people the names until the child is born. It is much harder to insult the name when you are holding that specific child in your arms.

Oh, and it's not even that the names were really far out there. One that her mother absolutely despised was Evelyn.

Psssst. 7-8 lbs is average. ;)

Regarding names- MOST people are tactful enough not to criticize the name while holding a child.

Yeah, we had been told that 7.5 lb is average, so, like I said, we are expecting a larger than normal baby due to family history. Like I said, the lowest birthweight between us and all of our siblings was 8 lb, 12 oz. She was over 9 lb, and I was 10 lb.
