What happened to the German Version?

I thought it was all good to go and now it hasn't been updated in a few months. what gives? are the translators ok? are they alive? Just curious...

I'm not really sure what happened. They had finals, so Greg stopped uploading the comics for them to translate. When they got out of school, Greg wasn't on the ball and didn't upload the stuff right away. This evidentially made them feel unwanted or something, but when Greg got the chance, he uploaded everything and has continued to do so.

I know they were a little upset that they weren't making money right now, but we're not making money either. Advertising is slow. We did mention to them that they could sell their own ads to help their revenue.

Other than that, we haven't heard from them. I hope they are ok too.

Well thats sad, they started very fast so it looked quiet well.

But Finals means big changes to life, suddenly stuff that was important before isn't anymore. Thats Life.

Es tut mir wirklich leid, dass wir uns in den letzten Wochen und Monaten kaum noch gemeldet haben, aber wir haben unsere Gründe. Bis zu einem gewissen Punkt hat Liz Recht. Wir waren im Abiturstress und als wir wieder Zeit hatten, hat es eine ganze Weile gedauert, bis Greg uns die Dateien geschickt hat. Die Sache mit dem Geld ist allerdings Schwachsinn. Wir wussten von Anfang an, dass man mit den Comics nicht reich werden kann und wollten das nie werden. Die 30% der Werbeeinnahmen, die jeder von uns bekommt, sind ein nettes Taschengeld nebenbei, aber mehr nicht. Wenn ihr es genau wissen wollt, sind das nicht mehr als drei oder vier Dollar im Monat, weshalb wir Greg auch gesagt haben, dass er das Geld erstmal bei sich behalten soll, bis ein Betrag zusammen kommt, bei dem sich eine Überweisung lohnt.

Der eigentliche Grund, warum wir vorerst aufgehört haben, die Comics zu übersetzen, ist, dass Greg selbst per Mail praktisch nie erreichbar war, wenn wir ihn gebraucht haben und dass er so einiges nicht erledigt hat, worum wir ihn gebeten haben. Beispielsweise haben wir nach einem geschlagenen Jahr unsere Verträge nicht zurück, wir können immer noch keine News auf der deutschen Seite schreiben, die versprochenden Weihnachtskarten von 2007 sind nie bei uns angekommen und wir wurden hier im Forum noch nicht als Moderatoren eingetragen. Das sind alles Kleinigkeiten, die wahrscheinlich innerhalb von ein paar Minuten erledigt wären. Das alles hat uns ein wenig die Lust genommen jeden Tag unsere Freizeit für den Comic zu opfern.

Ich persönlich würde gerne in naher Zukunft wieder mit der Übersetzung anfangen und Tobias und ich werden sicher auch nochmal miteinander reden, wie die Sache weiter geht, also gebt die Hoffnung nicht auf.

Okay, it's been a long time since we posted anything. Up to some point Liz is right. We had our finals (which went quite well) and after that we had some problems getting the files we needed. What isn't true is that we stopped translated the comic because we didn't get any money for it. Money has never been an issue. The main reason apart from having tons of work to do was that Greg did hardly anything to help us. He didn't send our contracts back, he didn't fix the news system and so on... I'll talk to Tobias and ask him what we'll do next, so don't give up hope.

Ich hab Greg im Januar mal angeschrieben, wie wir weiter verfahren, aber leider hab ich nicht viel mehr als "Ich meld mich morgen bei euch, hab grade viel zu tun" (sinngemäß) bekommen. Seitdem hat er sich nicht mehr blicken lassen.

Edit: sorry, dass die Antwort erst so spät kommt. Ich les zwar täglich den Comic, aber ins Forum schau ich nur extrem selten. Wenn ich nicht zufällig eine PM von EnQ bekommen hätte, hätte ichs wahrscheinlich immer noch nicht gesehen.

Whats cute is... I also speak German, I know I could aide abit if needed. =) Tho Im USA born. My Grandparents and Mom are German and are currently there right now, Wilhelmshaven. So least not all hope is lost. Lizzie, if needed, just send me a PM and can see what might be possible if extra help is needed. =)

An den Leuten mangelts nicht (mehr). Wir hätten wieder ein Team von drei Mann, aber Greg reagiert nicht auf PMs und Mails und in AIM/ICQ/MSN ist er anscheinend auch nicht on. Sonst hätten wir schon längst weiter gemacht.

Uhm, I still have the passwords for the German page. What's missing, are Greg's Illustrator files. The last one he sent us is from July or something.

Ohh ok I understand now. Btw Yea while I speak and read german fluently my writing on the otherhand is where I try to avoid some lol. Never did memorize the worterbuch. Heh.

You guys got a bug in your butt about something and then never bothered to talk to us about it again.

I just talked to Greg and he says that he searched his email and found an email from April 25th. He said he must have missed it.

Unfortunately, there were some problems that needed to be worked out first and that were never resolved. Those guys and Greg were arguing about some things so he stopped uploading until they could work things out. No other tries to work it out except for a request to upload more comics were received.

If they would like to work it out, they should try to contact Greg again and discuss the issues they had before. Greg is more than happy to upload the other comics again... but he'd rather make sure that things are settled first.

Right, I'll try to contact him as soon as possible (which might not be before tomorrow, I fear). Could you please tell him to be online in AIM or MSN? Would be easier than sending tons of PMs.
