I would have preferred 'vouchsafed' as it has more of a revelatory aspect to it. Can't have everything I suppose.

Only in Massachusetts could something like this come up and my first reaction is, "Probably not going to come up on Car Talk."

Somehow I feel like that "Spirit of America" license plate we put on our cars has never been more appropriate.

Where can a sheep get arrested and booked? Why, New Zealand of course!

I hope that kid gets attempted murder with a deadly weapon.

I also hope he gets beat right the fuck up in prison and writes a book about it warning other little shitheads to not do that kind of thing.

Only in NYC can animals continue to escape the NYC Zoo and people cheer for the escapees.

It's particularly fitting that the peacock would head up to Fifth Avenue. If he ends up at the Rockefeller Center, NBC might just claim it its mascot.

I think the comments were the best part. Especially from the guy who apparently wrote the tongue in cheek blog post about recapturing them. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize anyone outside our tiny corner of the web would read this. That's my fault. It's YOUR fault for being dumb enough to believe we have the time to go and recatch them. Ass." I may have paraphrased a little.

If you click through, you can see the original story as well as a later follow-up post with a quasi-apology-slash-eye-rolling-sarcasm.

I was wrong to assume that because I predominantly write our hyperlocal blog for our Cape Ann residents that people would understand how preposterous the notion that you could have time to move all the lobster gear even if they knew where the lobsters were released and to set it and for those lobsters which were probably miles away from that location would ever get caught.

I was obviously wrong and people did not understand with the outlandishness of it all that it was a joke.

It’s on me.

What I am happy for is that the releasing of the lobster story which would have been a simple story largely forgotten by now has gotten huge legs and all the positives of Buddhism are highlighted. For that I am grateful.

Look carefully. That's the post I was referring to.

Only in Iowa. Seriously, what's the point? It's as useless as the Syfy channel!
