How's that Winter storm treating you? Thundersnow? A foot or more of snow? Dreading that arrival of Jim Cantores to your neighborhood? Sleet? Having to postpone a major golf tournament because of 6" of snow? Stranded out in the middle of the I-435 loop? Yikes. Sucks to be you.

I'm enjoying from the relatively balmy 50ºF (10ºC) but rainy weather. And we've had maybe a dusting of snow all together here. And I'm so sorry if you've heard me giggling and running victory laps.

Dear Weather,

Yesterday, I was giggling at the snowstorm impacting Kansas & Missouri. Now I learn one of my cousins, a 19 year old renaissance faire snake charmer, died in an accident because of the snowstorm.

That'll teach me to thoroughly enjoy not being in a snowstorm.

Update: turns out the accident was to hide a death by overdose. Apparently, she became addicted to painkillers and she has access to vet meds. I had no idea how large skeleton closets are.

I lost a cousin this month to cancer, and we weren't close, but the aftermath has still been devastating. I send my deepest sympathies and commiseration.
