Re: Songs you should listen to
I decided to learn the bass and ended up developing an appreciation for funk as a result.

Yo Mav, I'm real happy for you and Imma let you finish but Hirschoff had the best sig trends of all time.

Re: Songs you should listen to
That is pretty funky. But a disappointing lack of haggis.
How’s the bass going? My son’s just chosen drums and bass as his two instruments for high school music. Trying to get him to listen to as much Kim Deal as possible. Not because she’s flashy, but because the bass doesn’t have to be.
The singer in this hits his head against the ceiling in every song on the album, but I love the run down on the bass and the jumping between octaves.

I'm having fun teaching myself how to play it. If your sons chose both drums and bass, I take it he likes to be the metronome for the band?

Yeah, so Brasstracks is the trumpet playing along plus the solo at the end. We must follow down this brassy rabbit hole.

Re: Songs you should listen to
Oh. Put up or shut up, I guess.
I’m waiting for the letter from the court to say my divorce is finished. But like everything else in the UK, the postal service has been on strike.
Anyway. This song:
https://youtu.be/QLYdoN6pEHg
Is it all that you wanted?
Your hair blowing in the cold breeze
Secrets within the trees
That are not revealed to you
You're frightened of your nature
Your promises, they escape you
What's one more burden on the back of this beast?
I can't take back all the hurt I've caused
Everything I love I have somehow lost
And it's four in the morning
And the spiders are crawling
And my mind's replaying pictures of all that I can't undo
Love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
Love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
Is it a stain on your conscience?
Or is it more like a mural?
A memorial for all those you've tried to be
Is it how you imagined it
In the great wide open?
With all you've left unspoken
now just hanging in the breeze
'Cause I can't take back all the hurt I've caused
Everything I love I have somehow lost
It's four in the morning and the spiders are crawling
And my mind's replaying pictures of all that I can't undo
And love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
Love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
Love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
So soon
My old friend
I hope that I never see you again
Love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
Love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
Love, I'm trying
But I can't pull myself out of this one
No, I can't pull myself out when the darkness comes
