and today on "As the world waits for Half-life 2"

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/09/24 ... 08100.html

VU can sit on the RC for up to 6 months in order (they think) to pressure Valve to back down from part of the lawsuit that both companies have been in since 1999 (it says 2002, but the trouble started in 99).

Rather than make a new thread, I'll just necro this one...

Several sources have been reporting that it's gone gold since last week, and it's now all over that the release date has been announced by Vivendi as November 16th. IGN and PlanetHalfLife are just two sources reporting in on that.

I know... I've been following Hlfallout.net. It also has an ESRB rating which isn't meant to happen 'till gold. How ever Valve keeps saying not to believe any rumors, because the moment it goes gold they'll make a lot of very large announcements. I believe they used the term "watch the fireworks." With all this going on everyone was expecting a gold announcement... Friday I believe it was. However none have come. So.... this could be just as fake as the first post of this thread.

They're all reporting that it's coming straight from Vivendi.

And here would be the official press release...

Well then... this would simply make me rather pissed at Valve... unless they're somehow are finding out the same time/way we are....

Well, they did have to wait for VU to tell them if the latest Release Candidate was accepted as the Gold version or not...

I mean, they are the publisher here. I wouldn't believe their expected release dates, but I'm pretty confident in their gold announcements...

wow... they got the first rc, more than a month ago, and it's going to hit shelves in just under a month... two months total. The first one took... 9 days I believe it was, to go from RC, to shelves... This is not awesome at all.

Well all I know is that the CS:Source beta is a major teaser for how HL2 is going to be. I wasn't planning on pre ordering HL2, but that changed after about an hour of beta testing.

A record, at least for this forum. It’s also wildly nonsensical unless someone just woke up from an 18 year coma.

The legend says Valve will commercialize Halflife-3 the same day as Team Fortress 3 and Portal 3 :P

Fortunatelly, Valve wasn't in charge for Kingdom Hearts 3 !

I was so confused seeing my name as the OP.
Then I saw it was from 18 years ago and now I'm more confused.

Funnily, HL2 didn't grab me much in the end.
