The Holodeck Problem
I wonder if they figured out replicator tech, cause I have some questions about how they have been eating.
I mean, as long as it is not a Fruppy-land situation.

Well, if the doors slide open and we see 7 skeletons on the floor, you have your answer....

Re: The Holodeck Problem
Replicator tech is old news for Tony - it's essentially just transporter tech with predetermined patterns in storage. I actually mentioned it in this comic: https://reallifecomics.com/comic.php/?c ... er-30-2014

Wait... is the Dreamcast still running the simulation? That is one dedicated little console.

Re: The Holodeck Problem
IIRC, the TOS novel Enterprise mentioned storing certain bulk goods in transporter buffers. Coffee is the example that sticks in my mind. Whenever someone wants to make some coffee, the computer retrieves a small amount from the buffer. The justification is that the energy cost to maintain the buffer is far less than the energy cost to move the material in its matter state.

I wonder who's job it is to brew 100 gallons of coffee. You need up one batch and the whole crew is pissed off for a year.

How does someone not notice 4 years?
Also, somehow thought the characters would get an update look. No clue why.

THEY HAVE HANDS, DAMMIT.
And it'd be easy not to notice 4 years... if the simulation was perfect. Which it clearly is, since they were in it ever since November 25, 2014.

Hey, Comic Greg would not be Comic Greg if his hands weren’t in his pockets in the first frame. It’s only right that it should be so. So say we all.

Harper has at least been updated. As one would predict, given she's probably headed off to University soon.Cyberliger777 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 6:46 pmHow does someone not notice 4 years?

Does anyone else hear the AI's voice as the voice of the house in Eureka?

Re: The Holodeck Problem
Liz has fingers.
It’s not certain they’re attached to hands, but there were definitely fingers.
Or possibly alien worms. It is a holodeck, after all.
