Why, oh why AK-47?! (strip 5/27)

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

How about you just use an automatic shotgun like the Pancor Jackhammer, instead? Much higher stopping power, good controllability, plus it can rip through a crowd fast.

Only downside is the large, heavy ammo drums.

He's going to Wal-Mart to buy something, not to blow it to smithereens.

Whatever happened to simply going into the middle of the store and yelling "Fire!" to clear the place out?

minor technicality. Ok, Fire bomb 'em. Sucks their lungs out, doesn't harm the building. Just step around the puddles.

But that only works if the terror alert meter on CNN is set to "high". Take Lizzie's cat in there and yell, "Mad Cat Attack!!!" that might clear it out...

Perhaps Greg absolutely, positively had to kill every motherfucker in the room
I would tend to agree with this hypothesis. The AK is hard to beat when it comes to stopping power per dollar, and is accurate enough in single shot for longer range confrontations (some of those wallmarts are pretty big.)

Of course, he could just tear gas the places...

Note: The OICW is the opposite of the AK47. Look at it funny, it breaks. Much like the SA80.

Tear gas would stop him breathing, and damage the goods.

Not necessarily. Obviously he'd be wearing a gas mask, and the tear gas breaks up rather easily if I remember right...

I think the SPAS or the M4A1 would be the best bet for close quaters combat...

and no, i dont know this from experience. i just play lots of Tactical Ops!
