Hey, you forgot the obvious: Right now the stores are out of the vinyl chair rails and crown molding. As a result, you can only get the wooden stuff. Price of the vinyl would be about $6 per 12 foot section. Price of wood is about $35 per 12 foot section.
The Werefrog know this because The Werefrog recently redid the basement due to a river running through it a year ago (everything needed to be fixed in order).
The shortage is a result of all the various spots of the supply chain going out at various times due to the pandemic.
