How it should end

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

How it should end

Post by Dreamer » Thu May 19, 2016 3:33 pm

Consider this an alternate ending?

Dean. Greg Dean! I'm talkin' at you! And this is good stuff right here.
I’ve always considered one of my hobbies to write little snippets like this. Origin stories… Or culmination stories. And I think I have a good one…
Get 2-3 weeks of comics together.
And make it epic.
Some of us come back to see what's going on. Let us know that the series finale will begin on whatever day and last 2-3 weeks.
5 comics a week, for 2-3 weeks. Just do it. For us!
Then kill everyone off (sort of). In the most epic of fashions. Well, not everyone... I imagine your progeny coming back from the future, with a time machine built from Flansass' plans, to finally end it all.
Keep up, y'all... Because here we go. I have a knack for this shit. And it’s about to get awesome. I promise.
She comes back from the future. Because it is revealed that it was Flansaas’ scheme from the very beginning to end the comic. HE discovered a way to break the fourth wall. And he succeeded. Or did he???
She uses his tech to come back. Break the wall herself. She has to battle HAL 9000, or whatever. Travel through the previous story lines. And finally encounter Flansaas. Who says, simply "Finally... this was always intended to be the end...” And, btw, this should take place during one of the November '99 comics. I'm talking lines, bro. No color. A bit of that style, and maybe breaking into and out of the most current style as well.
At some point Flansaas takes of his rubber face mask and reveals himself to be Dave the entire time.
Greg gasps "But the comics! You were in several together!!"
And he says "Were we? Were we, really? Think of all the power the cartoonist had... Were there never ‘extras’? How many time have I broken your hallowed ‘4th wall’? Was it his fault his he was so innocuous, or was he just "drawn that way?" It's not my fault you never delved deeper... I've been watching… the entire time…”
Dave slips a vibrating blade from his scabbard. Harper does the same, with a flourish. Something clearly more advanced as she's enhanced Flansaas' tech. Flansaas looks worried but advances violently.
An epic sword fight ensues. Liz flees the room to find Greg, who is in his drawing room, hastily sketching.
"What are you doing?!" she asks... "Our daughter is in trouble!"
"I have an idea...!" entreats the artist...
She watches him sketch...
"Greg... no... No, you can't... This would end... this would end it all..."
"I know... but it has to be done..."
The artist sketches furiously... The fight outside continues.
And finally he finishes. And it is done:
(This is where I need someone's help. Someone please mock up the web comic from the very first day. When Greg asks "Let's make a web comic!" we now get to see Dave say “nah… Let’s just play instead…”
Greg uploads the comic. Nothing ever happened. We see a real life picture of them just simply going to bed.
*THE END*
Okay. I dare you to tell me that’s not awesome.

I vote 1 week of game of thrones inspired comics in which every character meets a grisly end...

So Greg comes back to life at the end?

That's one thousand percent your fault.

GoT spoilers are as inevitable as the sun rising. As are Walking Dead spoilers. Both shows are bigger than all of us.
