Comic 36

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

Yeah, being dicks — even of the most micro sort — probably doesn't help if Greg's already feeling self-conscious about the lack of updates.

I will shut up about the comic, but I refuse to stop being a dick or micro-dick or having a micro-dic...wait... forget that last part.

I hear by solemnly swear to not be a dick about the comic. I will read the comic and enjoy the situation, geeky, nerdy, comic, and video game humor with out reverting to internet troll behavior.

I will still post comics on this subforum and comment, without being cruel, on them if I find them funny or situation to my life and I wish to share.

Sincerely,

I wasn't talking about the forum as a whole, I was talking about the comments in this thread and a few other threads in this subforum that began to sound like a dogpile effort to complain about the shitty update schedule. I'm happy you guys are posting, but keep in mind that the artist making the comic is a person with feelings. That's all.

Also, Mav is my best friend. We're well aware that he had a baby. I was there visiting her the day she was born. :P

Edit: eh, screw it. Tell Greg we say hi.

I don't quite know what to make of this. I had a look last night and this year alone, I don't think I saw more than about a handful of comments about updates, and even then I think maybe two were worthy of being taken seriously.

Given all that's happened, why would you come back to view this subforum? What were you expecting?

If you want loyal readers, you're going to get disappointed fans when they have nothing to read. If you want the praise, you're going to also get the criticism.

People care, so they're commenting. On the comic, not on Greg or you.

Although I do sympathise.

I suspect it's a self-fulilling prophesy though. His readership numbers are going to suffer from fewer updates and that must make it difficult to bother with updating.

Also, I can tell you from experience, having a baby is disruptive beyond the sum of its disruptive parts.
I go back to my original proposition: why not close this subforum?

Did she crawl up the walls Exorcist-style? If not, my mental images are sorely incorrect.

Just an FYI - Greg is still doing better than MSPA where we waited OVER A FREAKING YEAR for an update. And those of us who either spawned or took in other peoples' spawns understand completely the weirdness that is life with kidlets. A 21-month-old monopolizes every waking hour I'm not at work right up to the point where she goes to bed. I ended up learning how to play the recurring Doc McStuffins songs on the piano BY EAR.

I've got to say, given the choice during the - maybe - hour between the wee one going to bed and us falling unconscious on the couch: if it came down to either doing an online comic, or trying to 'spend some time' together, you'd all be reminiscing about the last comic I did, which would have been about the Millennium.

No joke. In my head I was prepared for that exact response. :)

Don't get attached.

The times, they are a-changin' ya know?

I'm getting married next April. I'm closing on a house in less than a month.
I bought furniture.

I'm looking at reviews on refrigerators. REGRIGERATORS RORS!
The first domino's been toppled. And they're all falling over. Until the last one.

That's an allegory for death.

Clever right? Until you realize I snuck the word "anal" into that sentence... And also the word "Allegory." Which literally means a story with "a hidden emaning."

Buttsecks.

Stay in wonderland... And I'll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

(I snuck the word "lego" into that sentence.)

PS: This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were removed.

I have to agree with Rors (man that hurt a little to say :) ). There have been a lot of VERY loyal readers and forum goers who have stayed through thick and thin. We were all brought here by our enjoyment of the comic and the people we met through it. I for one still enjoy the comic and yes I am disappointed when there is a long stretch without an update, and it does bother me that through his own actions or inaction some people were angry and left RLF with a bitter taste in their mouth. That doesn't mean that we should all be painted with the same brush OR that a little grumbling from the masses isn't warranted. I think a lot of both the Dean's as intelligent artistic people, but sometimes you have to take your lumps and move on. You can't kick a dog and then get mad when it doesn't want to lick your hand.
