The 80s were Weird??

Talk about today's strip, or anything about the comic in general. You can also talk about any of the characters... but don't expect a response. They're FICTIONAL, you guys... sheesh. :)

The 80s were Weird??

Post by Hiraghm » Sat Dec 20, 2014 4:43 pm

Coming from a perspective of the socialist twenty-teens, I laughed myself silly once I picked my jaw up off the floor.

Has the U.S. actually gone that far around the bend that the last great decade of the country is now ridiculed for being normal (for America)?

Moderns calling the 1980s "weird" is like a carnival freak calling Megan Fox "weird".

I lived through the 80's and I can say for a fact that they were weird. With that said, every decade is weird. They are just weird in different ways.

The 80s were weird. Weirder the the 70s, even. And it was hardly a great decade. President committed treason, AIDS, some of the highest unemployment ever, interest rates 13-18%. It started the if one was good, more of the same is better squeals in the movies, Music was more varied, so there was that.

" socialist twenty-teens"
I have no idea what that means.
