Mae is an admin. When she's ready, she has the ability to make the change her name and title herself. I don't want to push on that, especially since she has stated that she has a master plan for changes to public symbols.
I went through it myself 20 years ago, some people take their time. I wouldn't let anybody use my name or pronoun till it was on my DL. Some people dive in head first the day they came out. Some people do it gradually.

Two legitimate new accounts in the same day?

Mae is causing a stampede!
I admit, the topic got me here. This is not a theme I'm usually interested in as it tends to be romanticized, fetishised, or idealized. But Mae's basic forthright approach to this jibes so much with what I went through, at least so far, that I'm intrigued to see where this is going to go. But honestly I never even heard of this comic until this week!

You got me beat, I "only" started 16 years ago!

I for one am intensely glad to see that some people are being inspired by Mae's description of the thought process to tackle their own journeys. That is just plain awesome.

I honestly saw Mae in the forums first and assumed that the Deans had a new adult daughter, it was a sister, or they had gone poly. Or they had divorced and there was a new wife (hey, it's happened enough times in my family me not knowing things like that until years later, it's likely to happen online as well).

... and then I realized there were new comics and read them. Because I tend not to check there first. Oops.

But yay for Mae, I hope she's happy!

The turning point embodied by today's comic is ... so important.

I kind of wish "my version" of this critical milestone hadn't taken so long. It took about four months of therapy together, before my wife came to see the new me as a happier and better version of the person she fell in love with.

But, we did get there. And I will never not be grateful.

As far as we know, it was the same here, except the comic versions don't have to go through all that.

Comic me probably wouldn't have either.
