That really is a long string of good news! I'm legitimately pleased for you! :D

So I'm watching a Twitch stream, predictably I'm mostly lurking, but I've said a few things and then I see this:

"whoa, BtEtta - that's a name I haven't seen in a while. Reallifeforums years and years and years ago, right?"

Turns out I was in the same Twitch stream as user #36 Vektor T. Gecko.

I also didn't realise at the time that pratically it had to be someone that used the IRC too (so one of the more well known names) because they recognised "BtEtta" as opposed to "BtEO".

That is a hell of a memory on them. I have trouble remembering people in my family's name some days.

Which is why Taika Watiti cast him as Laszlo in What We Do in the Shadows. I need to do a Taika movie marathon. Shadows, Hunt for the Wildepeople, Thor: Ragnarok. That is one crazy kiwi, ay.

Oh Christ. A comedy spin-off from a eccentric low-budget movie.
That doesn’t augur well.

I am reserving judgement, but with Taika at the wheel, I smell success.

My goddaughter is 5 today. Guys...I feel old.

I rarely read the news anymore.

What’s all this ‘Nike’ fuss?

Colin Kaepernick raised a stink a while back when he protested police brutality by taking a knee instead of standing for the national anthem. He then got cut from his team and couldn't get another job because a) no team wanted to deal with the drama and b) his stats as a gridiron player were terrible. Of course, he claimed he was blacklisted due to racism. Nike thought to capitalize on his infamy with a "Believe in something. Even if you lose everything." campaign. For this, I am personally thankful because the memes are fantastic.

And now Nike are facing a backlash from the original Take-a-knee protestors? Is that right?

They are. People think that burning and cutting the Nike swoosh from their already paid for stuff is going to hurt the company. So far, Nike has seen a rise of 31% in online sales and a modest rise in their stock price after an initial drop after the ad first came out. While there are some out there calling for a boycott, it's clear that others are supporting the company.

Personally I feel this will end the same way as the Dick's Sporting Goods call for boycott of a few months ago. Lots of people talking about it in the news and nothing really hurting the company once the talking heads find something else to rant against.
