I really, really enjoyed BvS.
Yeah, it took a long time to get to where it was going and I've read a lot of critics' comments and most of them are justified, but it did it for me. It had everything I wanted to see and more.

Not sure if Katie and I will make it to that movie. I haven't read the reviews, but it did good in the box office, right?
We just watched Inside Out this weekend. Pixar movies hit me in the feels...

BvS isn't even on my list. I might rent it later just to keep up with the story, but it doesn't deserve box office revenue from me.
1st strike was casting Ben Affleck as Batman.
2nd strike was the presence of Superman in a non Superman only film. As a superhero he's horribly broken. They did a decent job glossing over the major problems in Man of Steel but it still devolved quickly into an invincible man vs invincible man slug fest.
3rd strike was the terrible reviews (not just from critics, that's to be expected with an action flick).
I'll be there for Suicide Squad and Civil War but I haven't seen much else comic movie wise this year. I still need to catch up on the last Fantastic Four and a few others though.

Deadpool, perhaps?
I enjoyed 10 Cloverfield Lane. A popcorn movie in suspense thriller clothing, but with good performances and a plot line that keeps you guessing and unsure of yourself.

Deadpool was amazing. Can't wait for the next one. Thought I had mentioned that I finally made it to a theater for that one in one of these threads.
Was 10 cloverfield lane a human or supernatural source of suspense? I generally avoid thriller and horror type movies that are a showcase in how terrible humans can treat one another.

It was human based but a "Hostel" type gore fest or anything.

If Zootopia has taught me nothing else, it's taught me this: rabbits can be sexy.

He's a furry! Get 'im!"
Meant it was NOT a gore fest.Deacon wrote:It was human based but a "Hostel" type gore fest or anything.

raptor, I enjoyed BvS. It was not without its problems but it got to where I wanted it to go. Eventually.
I think the reviews are harsh, but Affleck as Batman is not even in the film's top ten problems.

I didn't hate BvS, but it was definitely on the wrong side of the good/bad spectrum. The ending was relatively satisfying to me, but virtually everything up to that point failed to grab my interest.

Yeah, I know. That's been the common complaint about it ever since it was announced. But it is consistent with comic book logic. Or cash-grab logic, however you want to look at it.
I think Affleck could have done with a solo Batman movie first and I did object to shoehorning Batman into a Superman movie to try and shore up MoS's shortcomings - quite a cynical move after Nolan's success - but it will certainly be interesting to see the next DC move.

Civil War was everything I wanted it to be and more. Ant Man and Black Panther absolutely stole the show and when they didn't, the Falcon/Bucky relationship was utterly delightful.
