I really liked that second one, actually. Sometimes it's nice when accents shine through in vocals, too.
EDIT: OK, I love this song most of all, due in no small part to the story it tells:

Ha. Yes, I was listening to the album in the car the other day and did consider posting that song with you in mind but the precise politics of it elude me.

I don't know anything about this guy. I just heard this song in an episode of The Walking Dead. It's really haunting but I think quite beautiful.

I'm usually not entertained by English covers of foreign songs but this is one of the exceptions.
And in case you're interested in what the original was like.

Yo Mav, I'm real happy for you and Imma let you finish but Hirschoff had the best sig trends of all time.

Some days I'm suspicious of my own musical tastes... but this is catchy as fuck and highly conducive to looping while coding.

That was great! I love that slightly off the beat style of rap where they just steamroller over the rhythm but still keeping time, if that makes any sense.
Did James make it over to the US? If not, listen to some James.
This isn't their best song but it's the one I've listened to most recently. The marriage of the rhythm guitar and drums pleases me mightily.

That's a pretty popular song over here among pop hiphop stations. The style of his flow makes it catchy.
And no, never heard of the band James. I'm wondering from that song how far back they go and if it's the British version of early indie folk evolution, even if lyrically there's not much there.

Yeah, James certainly came in with the Britpop crowd from what I remember. So I suppose very late 80s/early 90s? It's all a blur now, and more because of time than anything more fun.

Travis are back! In Pog form! Or I'm nearly forty. One of the two.
Anyway. And because I know Deacon likes to hear a native accent in a song.
Nothing complicated but I like the little run-down riff and how the vocal follows it in the verse.

Never heard of them, I don't think, but it's not bad. I've become so jaded to music at this point that it has to MOVE me to make a difference.

What happens if Portishead teams up with Bjork to produce a bleak Christmas song?

Oh, there's just no pleasing you Texans unless someone's singing about a dead dog.
