Incredibly good.

The series, though? It could be very good, or ... not. A lot, of course, will come down to the direction, the acting, and the faithfulness to the source material. At least it's HBO, so they won't hopefully won't shy away from the almost unrelentingly grim and dour nature of the books ...

oooooooooooo.....I want.

I also know that Aaron will be glued to the TV to watch this. Considering that pretty much the only time we turn on the TV is to play games, or watch something over the summer, that's saying a lot!

I really enjoyed the books, and am looking forward to number five. Lots of palace intrigue, good fighting, and realistic human responses to situations.

HBO, PLEASE don't fuck this up. Science Fiction finally has found a place on TV and you could be the cornerstone to taking us from D&D the movie to something good.

Oh god, I'm so worried.

This would be the first show EVER that made me actually subscribe to HBO.

On the subject of D&D movies, hopefully Dragons of Autumn Twilight will be good.

Though I can't help but picture Raistlin yelling "WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR!?" and firing a magic missile into some guy's knee.

Ten years after this post, the show is winding down after having become a pop culture phenomenon.

I remember the speculation about it many years ago. Looks like it’s going to be 2019 before we get the final season.
