Re: Who watches Doctor Who

For #2, Netflix has most (if not all) of DW available. All of the new seasons and some of the older stuff can be streamed instantly.

Re: Forget your guns; they'll have my SALT when they pry it...

Many people say that the additives will give the food a bit of an odd taste. I've not actually tried it. I've got kosher for any cooking and a grinder for the table. The more I think about this, the more I realize how limited your choices would be if you had to make a meal without any salt. It'd be ...

Re: Forget your guns; they'll have my SALT when they pry it...

Hm. Doesn't making Corned Beef require salt? It takes quite a bit of salt (as does any brine). I went through nearly a whole box of kosher salt preparing the brine for the batch I've got in my fridge right now (though it is about 20 pounds of beef). Any sort of cured meats are out as well. I wonder...

Chorizo is right about using Pyrex (more generic names for similar glasses are borosilicate or soda lime glass), that is if you are using glass. It is designed to handle thermal shock and stresses. Using other glasses can result in anything from cracking to violent shattering. It is what's used in g...

Re: So, what is the weather where you are?

It started snowing on Wednesday and hasn't really stopped yet (though it was fairly light today). High chances of snow everyday through Friday. But that's to be expected from lake effect.

Re: Squuuuueeeee *cough cough* (Swine Flu)

For the past week or so a number of schools in the surrounding area have been shutting down due to the large number of absentees from the flu (no confirmation if it is swine flu or not) and starting today the entire city school system shut down for a week (2 high schools, quite a few middle/elementa...

That and you can't have piles and piles of money to show off. Just a card that is the same as all the others.

On a side note, took the demographic survey and had to click 25-34 for age. I'm being grouped with thirty year olds now! Damn you Greg for pointing out how old I'm getting!

Re: The Psychology of Moral Conundrums

I refuse your false dichotomy and choose the logical choices. As the train conductor, I blow the whistle; alerting the construction workers to the approaching train. While on the bridge, I alert the construction workers vocally. After that, I push the fat guy onto the tracks anyway. No one likes a f...

Here's one: Is there any way to disable the 'by application' volume control in Vista? It's been a true pain for me as it likes to randomly mix things up and I have to constantly turn individual applications back up.

Re: Any crafty types here? (TF2 minigun replica idea)

To get the scale right I would suggest making a very rough cardboard version. Pretty much two boxes to represent the barrel and the ammo bin plus a handle all held together with duct tape. (Start with a scale based on the grip) This will give you a good idea of it's final size and decide on the over...

So, what's the crux of the problem... can't paint suppliers just come up with new, less heat-absorbent dark paints?
One of the funniest things I've heard all day.
