Re: Only Resolutions

So we've dropped keto, but are continuing with low to no carb, and no refined sugars. Home cooked meals too. Managed to get enough meat for the week for under $25, and veggies and everything else for under $75. Portioned and started marinating/dry curing the meat, chopped the veggies, peeled the pot...

Re: Only Resolutions

I'm not sure if I can do intermittent fasting. I make really poor decisions when I'm hungry, and usually those decisions revolve around what I'm putting in my face, so I actually *gain* weight when I try to eat less because I'm binge snacking more.

Re: Only Resolutions

Mine's more a "to-do" list based on my current changing situation (see "Rants and Raves" for details), but I'm treating them as resolutions: - Lose weight. I'm 220lbs, and "husky". I've been shrinking over the past six months, and I feel like I could have an absolutely bitchin' waistline if I could ...

Re: Confessions: It's less personal than last time

How can we stalk—err, follow—you on social media? :) I'm not particularly active, but I'm @baconwich basically everywhere. Or at least on Twitter and Instagram. Sooo... This is a reason to keep checking in. I'm glad you found your path, Spanks. Drop me a note if you want to look into changing your ...

Re: Confessions: It's less personal than last time

Timing-wise, I'm both incredibly happy I started when I did (right at the beginning of sweater season), and also disappointed with myself that I didn't do it, say, twenty years earlier. So, I went on antidepressants to treat anxiety (that had been determined to be the cause of nearly every physical ...

Re: Confessions: It's less personal than last time

Confession: I'm not going to make a big "coming out" post, because that's not my style, but I do want to gush about boobs for a minute. Monday marks five months on testosterone blocker, and four months on estrogen, and my doctor says I'm ahead of the curve (lol) as far as boobs go, and after all thi...

Re: Confessions: It's less personal than last time

Confession: Battle for Azeroth got me...As usual I've re-upped WoW again for the expansion. If history repeats itself I'll play for 5 or 6 months, then quit until the next one. So far it's been fairly entertaining and more than a touch nostalgic. Hard to believe I've been playing the same game off ...

Re: When did you join RLC?

How does everybody remember their exact join date? I can barely remember what I had for dinner yesterday.

Were I brave enough and more well-versed in serious topics, I'd join the real journalists in a time when they're needed more than ever before.

Instead I'm a kind of coward, happy to have an audience of barflies and golfers with very little at stake.
I need you to get me pictures of Spiderman!

Re: What's your job?

Unemployed! I *was* working front desk at a cute little Inn and cottages in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island (right in the heart of Anne of Green Gables country), but that would have ended in October anyways, since Cavendish is only open five months of the year. The missus got a sweet new job in Otta...

Re: Son of Rantettes & Ravettes

Changing jobs and/or careers? What prompted to big move? So, I lived on PEI from 2007 to 2010 and I loved it here. I lived right downtown, so I could walk anywhere, and all my friends worked at the hotel and had the same ridiculous schedule I had. Every day after work was like an unplanned staff pa...

Re: Son of Rantettes & Ravettes

Rant: Waiting to hear back on whether we've gotten this apartment or not. Moving provinces is stressful, and I've already booked the movers without a set destination. They're being helpful and offering to hold everything on-site for up to 30 days, but I'd be happier knowing we've got something lined...

Re: Son of Rantettes & Ravettes

Eww... I hope it pays well enough to justify! Yeah, we moved from Ontario back to Prince Edward Island. Currently making $3.75 above minimum wage, and it's still only *just* what I'd be making at minimum in Ottawa. Current plans: We move back to Ontario in October when the Inn/cottages I'm working ...
