Re: 2015 - 02 - 04 comic
It looks like the "summon your animal companions to your location for free" part is what makes it the most broken. Balancing it would require making it inconveniently expensive to summon more than one companion per turn.

Re: 2015-01-07 Oncoming flood of e-mails
He's probably using "e-mail" as a catch-all for all forms of electronic text-based communication, since listing tweets, facebook comments, etc. takes up more space.

I'm going to have to disagree on the salt there--most folks consume way too much salt as it is. The other seasonings are fine though.

Re: 07-23-2014 Smokin' Briskets
Eight pounds is a little hefty for one dinner for four adults and one three-year-old. They're going to have leftovers.
Can the smoker be left unattended for a few hours while it cooks? If so, then starting it up BEFORE going to sleep might be an option . . .

Re: June 19, 2014 Chrome Tabs
What annoys me about Chrome is that it supports only about 1/4 as many tabs open at once as Firefox does before I run out of RAM. I can have about four to five HUNDRED tabs open in Firefox before it crashes everything, while Chrome can barely reach one hundred.

Re: 12-11-13 Video games
My parents were of the "video games rot your brain" set, so I never actually got my own console until I was away from them, which was well into the N64/Playstation 1 era.

Re: June 16/17, 2013 - Final Fantasy XIV
Launch day of a MMO is just like the first day of the release of a new gaming console--you have so many people crowding the access points (either a physical store or the access ports to a website) that it becomes massively congested. Traffic should die down to a normal level by the end of the week. ...

May 22, 2013: Entering Hibernation Mode
If you're looking for a Star Trek fix, yesterday was the launch of a major expansion in Star Trek Online, the centerpiece of which is the opening up of the Romulan Republic player faction, complete with a full set of story missions. Here is the full list of new stuff: (warning: wall of text) http://...

Re: Delayed Comics
Schedule slip is understandable. What really sucks though is when the author of a comic disappears for several weeks without even making a "hey, this is why I'm absent" post, leaving the readers to wonder where he/she went.

Re: Debbie's back!
Now, if time did not exist for her, then why should she have been conscious enough to have perceived it as opposed to the total non-awareness of dreamless sleep? (Yes, I know, Rule of Funny, but I don't wanna just handwave it.) if Dave gives you a Eva will you let it drop? I'd be too concerned abou...

Re: 28 January 2013--PAL Unplugged
Transferring himself to something in Tony's lab would require that Tony's security be lax enough for PAL to hack through. Knowing Tony, his crucial systems are protected by an "air gap" (i.e. they are physically disconnected from the public network and probably won't accept wireless connections from...

28 January 2013--PAL Unplugged
It kind of makes sense. Whereas Tony would have used a self-sustaining power supply that would be good for years on end, Dave probably just used an array of off-the-shelf battery-based UPS modules that would only provide a few hours of power at most. Once PAL is powered down, they can disconnect him...
