Re: Coronavirus

Well it happened, my husband has been furloughed for the next 90 days at least. They are going to still pay his insurance, but this is a big hit for us. They cut the people that stayed on down to 20 hours a week. Scary times for us.

Re: Coronavirus

Marina is officially closed for the next 2 weeks. My husband's employer (Vacasa based in Portland, OR) laid off a LOT of people. My husband is considered an essential employee for now hope that holds. I feel bad for all the waitstaff in the restaurants here this is when we start to pick up and be ab...

Re: Coronavirus

The island I live on closed the roads to non residents a couple of days ago. My old job that I still work 3 days a week was doing limited hours at first but is now talking about closing for at least a week. My new job (vet tech) is currently open as usual but a lot of clients have cancelled non esse...

Re: Son of Rantettes & Ravettes

So to follow up on my previous rant/rave Rave: I love this new job and am really enjoying learning new skills Rant: The old job that I cut back from 4 days to 3 informed me they would be cutting my hourly wage as I "wouldn't be there enough to do my job" and now want me to train someone else to do a...

Assuming his facts are correct, point to CS22.
The post is from 10 years ago he probably isn't keeping score anymore :).

Re: Son of Rantettes & Ravettes

Rave: Got a call out of the blue offering me a position as a Vet Tech less than 2 miles from my house. Rant: We are planning on putting our house on the market in the next 2 months. Rant: It pays less and I don't want to leave my current job in the lurch so I will be working both jobs with 0 days of...

Right now I'm just working the muscles around the larynx (which are usually used for swallowing)
I’m pretty sure the wife doesn’t have those.
She does they are just discretionary.

They look like they should sound exactly like that lol. I definitely prefer the voice of the guy in the hat good gravely rasp.

Re: Only Resolutions

I'm not sure if I can do intermittent fasting. I make really poor decisions when I'm hungry, and usually those decisions revolve around what I'm putting in my face, so I actually *gain* weight when I try to eat less because I'm binge snacking more. Same! My solution was to make sure I had healthy o...

Re: Only Resolutions

- Figure out how to get facial electrolysis without breaking the bank. I can't do laser, which is cheaper, because my hair is so light (was ginger and light brown before hormones, now it's just blonde), and the best estimate I've found so far is ~100 hours average for a beard, at ~$90-100 per hour....

Re: Parenting with a partially disabled spouse

That must be so frustrating to you. You seem like a very structured person and having things up in the air so much must be very difficult. I had a situation with my husband where he was drinking heavily for several years (2.5 years sober!) and just the uncertainty of what I was going to come home to...

Re: Only Resolutions

Sometimes it is worth the effort and sometimes it isn't. You have to talk to the other person and find out where they are. Plus I know you are a very exacting person you may have to think about what is worth the fight and what you should let go.
