Re: Latest movies mega-thread

GotG2 was good. They piled on the feels and overdid it a bit on all the stuff that made the first one a hit. It's as if they slacked on the story because they thought an extra helping of sarcasm and social ineptitude would carry the movie on its own.

Re: Songs you should listen to

Postmodern Jukebox is something i stumbled upon in my youtube travels. They frequently collaborate with some pretty awesome vocalists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plIZho8Nd2g +Puddles Pity Party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVevvbFNKiY +Haley Reinhart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6RD6mjiI...

Re: Trucks!

Saturday was a nice 7 hours of driving from the in-laws to pick up the trailer. Since I took this pic I've mounted the factory toolbox on the tongue. I've also ordered a spare tire, transport chains, and binders. Still need to pick up some 3 or 4" straps to toss in the toolbox as well. Turning in on...

Re: Political Correctness and Other Imaginary Menaces

In practice I generally ignore both. Doesn't change the fact that they exist and are currently or will be a problem our society faces.

Re: Political Correctness and Other Imaginary Menaces

The alt-right is a vocal minority...we should just ignore them so they go away.

Re: Trucks!

Yeah that was supposed to be DOT/LEO. State police will pull you over if you appear to have an unsafe towing issue but I'd never let it get that far. If it doesn't handle well I'm not towing it like that. Too much work.

Re: Trucks!

Technically, you're supposed to run a WD hitch on anything over about 8000 lbs with most 3/4 ton trucks (8500 for F250). While GMC doesn't mention a limit it says max towing limits assume use of a weight distribution hitch. My factory 2.5" receiver has a 13k/1500lb tongue weight limit. I've pulled a...

Re: Trucks!

Well, I got the 22' load trail 14k bumper pull with full width spring assisted ramps at an out the door price of $3999 which let's me dodge $400+ in sales tax. I just decided that as little as I tow the trailer will do fine. Unless I have the tractor loaded, I won't even need to use the weight distr...

Re: Trucks!

Most likely max load including trailer weight will be around 10k. I'm figuring 6500 on the safe side for the tractor with rotary cutter (loaded tires and FEL adds 2k). I might put an ATV up front if there's room. The lower center of gravity and ability to shift the load around the axles should make ...

Re: Trucks!

At this point I might abandon the tilt option due to availability, weight, and cost. I did find The Trailer Guys in east Texas and they have some pretty awesome deals on Load Trail trailers (built by the brother of the guy that owns PJ in a factory across the street from PJ). Load Trail has the same...

Re: Trucks!

Well I guess it won't be a PJ. My local(ish) dealer wanted $6750 and the guy in Texas wanted $6125. Then I found out that PJ didn't negotiate any type of requirement with their dealers to service PJ trailers that weren't sold by them. The only dealer in my town is Big Tex and they don't offer a goos...
